Sustainable 7000 sq. foot Clinic/Pharmacy/Infirmary

Manjushree Vidyapith & Orphanage and Greater Tawang, India

Founded by Lama Thupten Phuntsok, a Tibetan monk, the orphanage now houses 200 children and is growing. His goal is to be able to house and school a total of 250 children. Sitting at 10,000 feet in the Himalayan Mountains, 60 miles from the China border, Tawang is the birth place of the 5th Dalai Lama and the region is home to an estimated 40,000 severely impoverished Monpa people who are practicing Tibetan Buddhists. As we anticipated, along with poverty comes sickness.

The Downey Family Care Center

Downey, California

AD+ World Health has partnered with Downey Regional Medical Center to create a primary care, preventative and urgent care family clinic in Downey, CA. The clinic will serve the underserved, uninsured and underinsured in Southeastern Los Angeles County. Our communities are in desperate need of access to a “patient centered” medical home where children, adults and elderly can receive the full spectrum care they deserve in a financially feasible venue. Patients will be seen regardless of their ability to pay. Both organizations are dedicated to providing non-profit services to communities in need.

It is estimated that 40-45% of our community in Southeast LA is uninsured. Everyone deserves quality healthcare regardless of their income. Please help us end suffering here in our own backyard. With your help we can get our doors open by September 2011.

CBET Inner City Immigrant Kids Yoga Program

CBET Inner City Immigrant Kids Yoga Program

Los Angeles, California

The program works within the Los Angeles Unified School District/Los Angeles Community Adult School. It is part of the free childcare service provided by LAUSD for parents who are taking classes in the Dept. of Continuing Education. The program teaches yoga and yogic philosophy to immigrant children 3-12 years old. Currently, there are programs in six schools teaching 6 classes a week. Our goal is to provide even more health education through our team of doctors and to expand our program to 12 schools and 24-48 classes a month. The program seeks to create a dynamic approach for addressing the social and personal challenges confronting youth and at-risk youth in inner-city schools. The children also learn about health through physical exercise and nutritional education.
